About the Storm and Team Taurasi
The California Storm Basketball Club was
founded in 1997 and since 1998 has been one of just 20 elite
Nike-sponsored club basketball programs in the United States.
On January 1, 2009, the Storm became the
first girls' basketball club in history to be affiliated with a
professional athlete, as the Storm's most elite travel team becomes
TEAM TAURASI, sponsored by four time WNBA All-Star and two time U.S.
Olympian Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury.
TEAM TAURASI will remain a part of the
Storm and Nike programs, but will wear signature apparel
specifically designed and approved by Dee.
For three consecutive years the Storm
has been one of just 16 teams to receive an automatic bid to Nike
Nationals in North
Augusta, South
Carolina, the most prestigious and exclusive
travel team tournament in the nation.
Along with Nike Nationals, the Storm
competes in some of the most competitive club basketball events in
the country, including the Boo Williams Invitational (Hampton, VA);
the End of the Trail (Oregon City, OR); the Summer Slam (New York,
NY); the Nike Summer Showcase (Chicago, IL); and the Oasis
Invitational (Phoenix, AZ).
Storm alumni include active WNBA players
Alana Beard and Iciss Tillis (both first round draft picks out of
Duke
University) as
well as dozens of current and former NCAA Division I stars.

currently playing at Division I schools include Alyssia Brewer
(University of Tennessee); Michelle Jenkins (University of Southern
California); Casey Morris (Texas Tech); Alex Carbonel (St. Mary's);
and Amber Coatney (St. Mary's); Shauna-Lei Kuehu (Hawaii);

Mission Statement The purpose of the
California Storm and its coaches are to develop fundamentally
complete players who will be prepared to succeed immediately at the
collegiate level.
All Storm coaches are experienced,
knowledgeable professionals who have proven ability to teach and
develop young athletes. Throughout the training process your
daughter will be encouraged, valued, and respected, and her welfare
and success will always be a primary concern.
In a time when
many clubs have no criteria or selection process for choosing
coaches, the Storm maintains the highest standards of integrity for
our staff members. These standards are evident in all of our
coaches' appearance, demeanor, and interaction with your
child.
Storm coaches are all volunteers who are offering
their time not for personal or financial gain, but for the benefit
of student-athletes who have the desire to be great.

respected youth basketball organizations. WBC is a not for profit
(501c3) organization dedicated to providing opportunity and exposure
for young athletes.
All finances are conducted through WBC
and monitored and approved by our Board of Directors. Parents'
financial obligations will always be clearly explained and
accurately invoiced.
